What parents are saying

AI summary of customer 179 reviews

The product has received mixed reviews. Many customers found it helpful for babies who prefer to have their arms out, as it allows them to sleep longer and prevents face scratching. However, some reported issues with the fit, stating it runs small and does not accommodate larger or longer-armed babies well. Additionally, some customers mentioned the cardi tends to ride up or bunch up, which can be uncomfortable or unsafe. Despite these drawbacks, many still recommend the product, but suggest sizing up for larger babies.

    Houdini can escape

    by

Purchased the cardi so bubs could sleep with arms up. Unfortunately throughout the naps and sleeps, his arms would escape. I had tried both sizes and arms would come out on both

    Rides up

    by

I purchased the bundle of the cardi and sleep sack but unfortunately I am not going to use it anymore because the cardi rides up and I am afraid it will put pressure on my son’s neck. Instead I will go back to the love to dream sack. This item is not worth the price.

    Good!

    by

I love the option to add hands up for my baby, but there isn’t a firm seal to keep her hands in unless I’m missing something. She gets them out of the flips there on the inside of the wings.

    Perfect accessory

    by

I love the butterfly cardi, it is loose enough for her to move and such, but tight enough to prevent her from waking herself up. It also stops her scratching her face in her sleep.

    Not practical

    by

I found that when they lift their arms these over the top wings for the arms goes up too and comes up near their chin and mouth. I have had to pull the front down several times away from his mouth and pull the back down as well as it bunches up near the back of the neck. We are now going to purchase another suit elsewhere that is an all 1 piece. The 2 piece is not practical for putting on and also when a wriggly baby is moving a lot.

    Way to small

    by

This item runs way too small and the first time I tried to use it in my newborn the buttons were bursting open. I bought the same size as the sack it’s supposed to be used with. I stupidly washed it before trying it properly so can’t return. Size up for this

This is the best thing. If your baby is already warm and you don't want to swaddle them, just use this cardi!

    Beautiful product and great quality

    by

Beautiful product and great quality - unfortunately too small for my newborn. My 3 week old baby has very long arms and they did not fit inside the 0-3 month size cardi, and the cardi only just fit across his chest. I would happily recommend the product to but I would suggest buying a size up if you have a bigger baby

    Fits wrong on all places

    by

Both this as my tot prefers to have his arms out. Unfortunately it fits so poorly on all places when the arms are closed in, arm cover is not big enough to fit his arms and the torso is so loose that it lifts to his face-covering his mouth and nose doesnt feel safe at all. It didnt work for us, it might fit other body types though.

    Didn't work for our baby

    by

I really wanted to love this product, because we have always been an Ergopouch family as I believe they are the best on the market. My little girl has an incredibly strong startle reflex and wants her arms out. I have so many different Ergo swaddle bags that I was hoping I could just buy the cardi and use my existing swaddle bags. Unfortunately my baby was able to get her arms and hands out of the bag. I think the design would really benefit from some press studs to hold shut the wings and not just folded over. I had to go with another brand with a fully enclosed arms up style. I will transition back to Ergo once her startle reflex stops.

    by

I tried this with my 3 month old and when he lifted his arms up the fabric covered his nose and mouth. I would not recommend using this at night as it seems unsafe.

Worked well to transition to arms out

    by

It was time to stop swaddling my baby as she was 4 months old and was showing signs of rolling. We had previously attempted to do one arm out without the butterfly cardi and it was a nightmare- she was waking every 10 minutes. I was desperate and purchased the butterfly cardi. We followed the guide but took a few days extra on each step as my bub was taking a little longer to get used to it. She now has her arms out and in perfect time for her to start rolling. I wish we had tried this sooner, it would’ve saved a couple of sleepless nights!

Not all babies enjoy having their arms swaddled in. That's where the Butterfly Cardi comes in. This innovative design allows you to keep your baby's arms close to their face, with the hands up option. Additionally, it can be used as a transition aid for when your baby is ready to move into arms-free sleeping. You can simply wear it over your baby's swaddle to help them adjust to the change.

The Butterfly Cardi features unique arm pockets to create a sense of containment, the feeling you baby will be used to from swaddling. By gently releasing one arm out of the swaddle at a time and into the pocket, you will be easing your baby to sleep fully arms-out over a period of 10 days, helping them get used to the new sensation as you go. With their arms inside the pocket, your baby will also have access to their hands for self-soothing. For babies who may still have a strong startle reflex, the press studs can be adjusted to make a firmer fit around your baby's torso.
